  2. Good tips, be sure not to link to junky or spammy sites from yours as well. Google doesn't penalize if they link to you(since there's nothing you can do about it if they do), but linking to them is your choice and can harm your reputation

  8. Great reminder on what not to do when it comes to SEO. I agree that useless content is out of the question as there is no long term return to gain from it therefore making the invested effort all go to waste.

    With regards to duplicate content, check out http://www.ragepank.com. I use Joomla quite a lot and find that I have to alter the htaccess a lot to stop the 200 (ok) from appearing many times. (This should only appear once per page).

  13. Your suggestions here are all very good. In fact, they are critical, not just to get better page ranking, but also to avoid being penalized by Google. I have seen many sites go from #1 spot to the hundredth page of results simply because they have duplicate content. Or because of keyword stuffing.
